The 4728 Likatonian general election was a snap election held because of the Coup D'etat attempted by the paramilitary groups linked to the NULP. in the election the President of Likatonia and 100 members of the Likatonian Senate were elected. The election also marks the end of the 4th Senate which was the first Senate not to complete its full term.
In the presidential election, Terressa Nickson from the Social Democrats emerged victorious over the National Union for Likatonian Prosperity on the second round even though the NULP beat her in the first. In the Senate election, not much changed with only the 3 larger parties lossing support to the smaller 2 and the Socialist Workers Party gain back some seats it lost in the last election.
Context[]
In the previous parliament Religous freedoms were stripped and military limited by the left leaning Social Democratic government. This was a changed from a seeming liberal party to propose but was voted through by the left and had no damage on the right wing partners in the coalition. The most shocking event causing the lection was the Coup D'etat which caused damage to many government buildings and public services as well as civilan houses in major cities across the country.
