The 5154 Luthorian parliamentary election was an early election for the Imperial Diet of Luthori. All 300 members were elected on the 4th of June 5154.

The Luthorian Labour, which had left the Gallagher I Cabinet because it opposed to the austerity plan of Prime Minister Estas Gallagher, came first and won the election by a wide margin to the Alliance Party.

The far-right made worse results than four years before.

Context[]

Gallagher I Cabinet[]

The previous election led to the victory of centrist and progressive parties, while the ruling right-wing to far-right coalition made large losses.

Estas Gallagher became Prime Minister with a coalition ranging from centre-left to centre-right parties that received the supply and confidence of the Bloc - Communist Union.

The new government passed progressive policies, such as lifting the censorship on international medias, a more internationalist foreign policy and more religious freedoms.

An anti-racism international treaty was ratified as well as the Declaration of Economic Cooperation Between Luthori and Likatonia.

The government also passed conservative law and order policies such as the legalisation of judicial corporal punishment that causes permanent injury and mandatory minimums on all crimes.

Political crisis[]

The member parties of the government often disagreed about economic policies; as a result, no major reforms were passed. At the end of the term, Prime Minister Gallagher presented an austerity plan to the Diet. This plan was opposed by the Luthorian Labour and Bloc - Communist Union who decided to support early elections and put an end to the cabinet.
