Anja Bendtsen was the Imperial Commissioner of the Eastern Territories. She served as Staatsminister of Greater Hulstria and Deputy Leader of the Christian Liberal Party from 2764 to January 2772. She served as Chancellor of the University of New Liore from 2772 until her death in 2791.
Personal Life[]
Anja Bendtsen was born in New Liore, Budenlar to Helmut and Helge Bendtsen and was their only child. Both of her parents were blue collar workers; her father worked on at automobile factory and her mother worked on a helicopter assembly line. Anja excelled in early public education and was granted scholarships to a private high school and, later, to the University of Labsburg. At university she studied economics and communications.
After graduating and working for two years for the local government, Anja applied to and was accepted at the law school at the University of Graafsberg. It was there that she met her future husband, another student, Wolfgang Grahn. The two married in 2735 and had their first child, Margarete in 2739, and their second child, Otto, in 2743. Wolfgang served in the national cabinet as Minister of Trade and Industry.
Political Life[]
After graduating from law school Anja and her husband moved to Labsburg where she took the position of Assistant City Attorney. Gaining reputation as a firm opponent of waste of corruption, she was recruited to run for the city council. Although she failed to win the contest, within twelve months her office was responsible for discovering and successfully prosecuting graft and corruption charges against local law enforcement leaders. In later 2743 she was approached by the local branch of the CLA to run for the mayor's office. Elected in January 2744, at age 34 she was the youngest elected mayor in the history of Labsburg. Easily re-elected in 2747, in 2749 fought and won the race to become the Christian Liberal leader in the crownland of Budenlar. She was sworn in as Chief Minister on January 2nd 2750 and served two full three-year terms.
In the January 2753 elections she retained her party's majority in the landtag and gained herself a seat in the Imperial Diet.
