Davostan

The Armed Forces of Davostan, officially the Davostani Defense Forces (Davostani: Dovske Forsvarsstyrker; Kivonian: Dovska Försvarsstyrkorna, abbreviated DDF) are the unified defensive and offensive forces of Davostan. The DDF was founded in 4790 after the Hutorian occupation formally ended in Davostan. The precursor to the DDF is the Third Republican Forces of the Third Kivonian Republic.

The Davostani Defense Forces is composed of three primary combat branches: the Davostani Army (Davostani: Dovske Hær; Kivonian: Dovska Armén), the Davostani Navy (Davostani: Dovske Flåde; Kivonian: Dovska Flottan) and the Davostani Air Force (Davostani: Dovske Luftvåben; Kivonian: Dovska Flygvapnet). The Davostani Special Forces are formed into the Leitz Squadron (Davostani: Leitzeskadron; Kivonian: Leitzskvadronen), they are counted as a formal fourth branch but operated independently of the traditional command structure due to their secretive nature. There is also the Davostani Military Police (Davostani: Dovske Militærpolitiet; Kivonian: Dovska Miilitärpolisen).

Command and control

The Davostani Defense Forces are commanded by the Military High Command (Davostani: Militære Højkommando; Kivonian: Militära Högkommandot) which is headed by the Director-General of the Davostani Defense Forces (Davostani: Generaldirektøren for Dovske Forsvarsstyrker; Kivonian: Generaldirektören för de Dovska Försvarsstyrkorna). The Military High Command is charged with the overall day to day administration, logistics and planning of the Davostani Defense Forces. The Davostani Ministry of Defense is the civilian-side of management of the Davostani Defense Forces. The two work in cooperation to make policy and carry out the wishes of the people of the Davostani state. The Military High Command, also known as the Davostani High Command works closely with the Davostani government to create and craft policy for the government. It includes various departments and branches which manage the military of Davostan, it includes the commands of the Davostani Army, the Davostani Air Force, the Davostani Navy, the Leitzskvadron Command and the Military Intelligence Service.

Branches

The Davostani Defense Forces are divided into three primary branches:

  • Davostani Army (Davostani: Dovske Hær; Kivonian: Dovska Armén) - Inspector-General of the Davostani Army (Davostani: Generalinspektøren for den Dovske Hær; Kivonian: Generalinspektören för den Dovska Armén) and the General-Inspectorate of the Davostani Army (Davostani: Generalinspektoratet for den Dovske Hær; Kivonian: Generalinspektoratet för den Dovska Armén)
  • Davostani Navy (Davostani: Dovske Flåde; Kivonian: Dovska Flottan) - Inspector-General of the Davostani Navy (Davostani: Generalinspektøren for den Dovske Flåde; Kivonian: Generalinspektören för den Dovska Flottan) and the General-Inspectorate of the Davostani Navy (Davostani: Generalinspektoratet for den Dovske Flåde; Kivonian: Generalinspektoratet för den Dovska Flottan)
  • Davostani Air Force (Davostani: Dovske Luftvåben; Kivonian: Dovska Luftvapnet) - Inspector-General of the Davostani Air Force (Davostani: Generalinspektøren for den Dovske Luftvåben; Kivonian: Generalinspektören för den Dovska Luftvapnet) and the General-Inspectorate of the Davostani Air Force (Davostani: Generalinspektoratet for den Dovske Luftvåben; Kivonian: Generalinspektoratet för den Dovska Flygvapnet)

These are the primary commands and branches of the Davostani Defense Forces. Underneath the Military High Command there are several other "branches" which are not full independent branches such as the Davostani Army, Navy and Air Force but considered to be major integral components of the Davostani Defense Forces. These are the Leitz Squadron Command (Davostani: Leitzeskadronskommando; Kivonian: Leitzskvadronkommandot), the Defence Intelligence and Security Service Command (Davostani: Forsvarets Efterretnings- og Sikkerhedstjenestkommando (FEST); Kivonian: Försvarets underrättelse- säkerhetstjänstskommando (FUST) and the the Davostani Military Police Command (Davostani: Dovske Militærpolitikommando; Kivonian: Dovska Miilitärpoliskommandot).
