Benoit Potour is a member of the Old Guard Party in Lourenne. The Party's nominee for Minister of Finance.
At the age of twenty he graduated magna cum laude in business administration and economics from the University of St. Domitius in Haboves.
Three years later he received his Ph.D. egregia cum laude in state and world economics from the Larosière School of Economics.
In 2448, he went to work at the ministry of finance, but two years later, when the Secular Party took control of the country, he left to teach at Delaune Univerity. He left the university in 2455 to become an associate professor at his old alma mater the Larosière School of Economics. In 2462 he became Dean of the Development Economis programme, reaching his professorship in 2465. In 2470 he became Chancellor of the university. After having completed multiple educational reforms, he left office in 2479, when he ran for the Senate.
He became Minister of Finance in August 2482.
