Deltarian (делтарски језик / deltarski jezik) is a Heludic language belonging to the Delic languages. Deltarian is a direct descendant of Old Tokundian, the first Delic literary language and the official language of the Tokundian Empire. With the collapse of the empire, manyTokundians were forced to flee Deltaria and find a new home in Cobura, but a substantial minority of Tokundians remained in Deltaria.
Deltarian is a pluricentric language that consists of two varieties, Tokundian and Alazindian. The two standards are both based on the same dialect of the Deltarian language, so they do not differ substantially. It is the native language of the Tokundian people, who refer to it as "Tokundian", and of the Alazindian people, who refer to it as the "Alazindian language".
Deltarian is written both in the Tokundian and the Selucian scripts. Alazindian is officially written only in the Selucian script while Tokundian officially uses both.
