The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Jakania (Turjak: Cakaniye Cumhuriyeti Başbakan Yardımcısı) is the deputy head of government of the Republic of Jakania.
The office was established with the formation of the third Karaağaç cabinet. The office of the Deputy Prime Minister is not a permanent position, existing only at the discretion of the Prime Minister. Generally junior coalition partners are given one Deputy Prime Minister in the cabinet. The office is currently vacant.
Nomination and appointment[]
The Deputy Prime Minister is nominated by the Prime Minister and appointed by the Assembly of the Republic along with the cabinet after a vote of confidence.
Authority and powers[]
The Deputy Prime Minister is the deputy head of the Jakanian government. The Deputy Prime Minister serves as acting Prime Minister when the Prime Minister is temporarily absent or incapable of exercising power. Deputy Prime Minister assists the Prime Minister and may chair cabinet meetings in the absence of the Prime Minister.
Official residence[]
The Ulukaya Mansion is the official residence of the Deputy Prime Minister of Jakania along with the Prime Minister. The property is located in the Ulukaya district of Dokuz, which lends its name to the mansion. After the 4909 elections and the constitutional reforms, the mansion was selected as the official residence of the Prime Minister of Jakania.
