Sønderhavn, commonly known in Luthorian as Southway, is one of the five regions of Davostag. The region is the most western region of mainland Davostag, with Kovmark bordering its eastern flank. Sønderhavn is the third largest region, but with the second largest population of just under 3.2 million people.

Government[]
The government of Sønderhavn is of republican form with highly stratocratic elements. There is no specific national law describing who appoints the Governor of the province, but it has been generally accepted that the Head of the Nation does this de facto. The governing body of the province is the Provincial Assembly, the chairman/woman of the assembly is the Governor of the province.

Politics[]
At the moment, Sønderhavn is dominated by a authoritarian military one-party state, with Maria Långberg serving as the Governor from the Kivonian National Salvation Party. Because of the existence of only the KNSP since the creation of the Third Republic in 4754, it is the only party to currently hold power.

Lake Sønderhavn
Davostan is 95% low elevation plains with hills. Only one district in the far north eastern corner is mountainous, which establishes Sønderhavn's border with Kovmark. Sønderhavn has four major rivers, the Kivonah River being the longest of them. Lake Sønderhavn is the largest lake in the nation.

Sønderhavn has pleasantly mild to warm summers with average high temperatures of 20–22 °C (68–72 °F) and lows of around 12 °C (54 °F). Temperatures exceed 25 °C (77 °F) quite often, and heatwaves are common during the summer. Winters are cold and snowy with temperatures between −7 °C (19 °F) up to −1 °C (30 °F).
Sønderhavn has an annual precipitation of 763 millimetres (30.0 in) with moderate rainfall throughout the year. Snowfall can occur from November to April, but snow accumulation occurs mainly from January through March.
