The 4718 Likatonian general election was an early election held because of the introduction of the Senate to elect the Presidential Office and 100 members of the Likatonian Senate. This election was the first Senate election in Likatonian history.
In the Presidential election, John Hamilton of the Conservative Republican Party managed to beat Jess Baker from the Labour Party even though she won on the first round. In the Senate the largest party was the Labour Party, which had overtook the Conservative Republican Party in this election. The Conservative Republican Party almost halved this election, this went along with the growth of the National Union for Likatonian Prosperity.
Context[]
In the last parliament many reforms to the country was passed in a short amount of time. One of these created the Senate as the new legislative body. Most of these refoms were proposed by the Labour Party and due to a more inactive government saw the Labour Party become the largest party after a massive swing to the CRP the previous election.

Government Formation[]
After the success for the Labour Party, they could decide what government should rule. They decided to go in coalition with the CRP for the first senate cabinet, Tucker I. At the time most thought a left alliance cabinet could take over but to the suprise of many Labour would choose to have less parties in their cabinet and keep it centre alined.
