The history of Temania begins with the human settlement on the continent over a million years ago.
Post-colonial history[]
In 4537, the Socialist Republic of Temania was established. After a period of instability, the Socialist Republic collapsed and a period of fractured and unstable rule spread throughout the region.
By the 48th century, three principal states had emerged in the region: the Federal Kingdom of Dikurniakan, the Nelayan Republic, and the Makmurtan Commonwealth. Initally composed of the Nelayan Republic and and the Makmurtan Commonwealth, the Federal Kingdom of Dikurniakan joined the Confederation of Temania in the 4750s. For some time, the Confederation continued.
In 4800, a conservative alliance of the National Patriotic Alliance (NPA) and the National Unity Party (NUP) won national elections. In 4916, anti-corruption politician Purwodarminto became Prime Minister on an anti-corruption platform. Over the following years, Purwodarminto led governments that clamped down harshly on corruption but centralised political control and eroded the independence of the three states. After a resounding election victory in the 4930s, Purwodarminto oversaw a series of constitutional reforms that transformed Temania into a federal state.
