The death of Ögge triggered a power struggle between between the House of Vigen and the House of Hammarström over control of the Kazulian throne. Vigen claimed the right to the succession by male-only primogeniture, having the closest all-male line of descent from a recent Kazulian king. They were descendants from the second son of Erengisle VI, Isak, Count of Vigen . The Vigen would rule in Kazulia without interruption until the line became extinct in 3289.
