The Imperial Service for Internal Security and Defence (Istalian: Servizio Imperiale Sicurezza e Difesa Interna), commonly known as SISDI, was the domestic intelligence agency of Istalia under the First Istalian Empire. It was part of the Imperial Community of Information and Security Services, the istalian intelligence community.
The service continued to operate also under the following Sixth Republic, as Service for Internal Security and Defence, until it was abolished with the creation of the Union of Quanzar and Alaria in 5034. It was the agency supersiding to the Fourth and Fifth Republic's AISIR which replaced in function after the imperial reform of 4571.

Role[]

The role of the SISDI was that of domestic intelligence agency, its tasks in fact were aimed at defending national security and the democratic institutions from any threat.

Organization[]

The SISDI had a Director nominated by the Prime Minister on suggestion of the General Director of the Imperial Community of Information and Security Services and officially appointed by the National Assembly's Committee for the Supervision of Intelligence and National Security which also appointed the three deputy directors on suggestion of the SISDI's Director. The director had a maximum term of 4 years and was renewable for one time only.

Department for the Democratic Security[]

The Department for the Democratic Security was a special division of the SISDI established in 4775 with the Law on Measures for the Democratic Security of the State and Institutions, aimed to contrast and fight the threats and the propagandation of harmfull ideologies for the democratic order of the state. Like the other directorates within the SISDI also the Department for the Democratic Security responded to the Director of the agency who presented each 6 months a detailed reports about the Departmet activities to the National Assembly's Committee for the Supervision of Intelligence and National Security.
