Jason C. Kennedy took over for his father's presidency in the Barmenian election of 2943 and remained president until decisively defeated in August 2946 to Bob B. Baker. After the assassination of Baker, Kennedy was elected President in the special election of December 2946 and continued as President until November 2951. In November of 2951, Kennedy was sworn in as Queen Rebeca's Regent and continued to serve in this capacity until the special election of August 2952.
Presidency 2943-2951[]
During Kennedy's Presidency, Barmenia was under one party rule. With no opposition, Kennedy worked to tilt Barmenia to the right. Despite an unpopular rule, Kennedy faced no opposition until the 2946 election when he was decisively defeated by the Labour Party. Due to an unexpected assassination and collapse of the Labour Party, Kennedy came back to power as President and continued his conservative reforms.
Selucian-Al Badara Conflict[]
After the death of an Al Badaran ambassador on Selucian territory, the two nations almost went to war. President Kennedy worked behind the scenes to prevent war by backing Selucia with military support. President Kennedy also signed into law the Selucian-Barmenian Brotherhood Treaty creating a close bond between the two nations.
Queen's Regent 2951-2952[]
President Kennedy was sworn in as Queen's Regent to Selucian Monarch Rebeca I, the daughter of the Selucian Imperator. Due to the small age of the Monarch, Kennedy's role remained practically the same. Kennedy and his Conservative Democratic Party along with opposition party the Libertarian Catholic Party worked for months to establish the Monarchy on Barmenia.
Later Life[]
Facing imminent defeat against the Libertarian Catholic Party, Kennedy chose to hold a special election in August 2952 and not run for political office. Instead he endorsed LCP leader Peter L. Marshall. As part of the agreement, the two parties would merge into one in order to unify the country.
