The Jelbeks or Jelbéks (Jelbek: Ѥлбєкай Jelbékai) are a Jelbic ethnic group, primarily located in Jelbania, which they call Jelbe. Jelbéks consist of the minority Steppe Jelbék (or Traditional-Living Jelbék), who are a largely a pastoral and nomadic people, bound by strict traditions, clan loyalties and cultural taboos. The majority of Jelbék are Settled Jelbék (or Urbanised Jelbék), who live in the townships and cities. Steppe Jelbéks are often romanticised and idealised by Settled Jelbéks.
