The current Ri'ys is Mahmoud ibn Bahij al-Hafez, elected in 3465.
There are currently two major parties in Kafuristan:
Hizb al-Ba'th al-Qafuri al-Qawmi, a religious, socialist, Vanguardist party, currently in opposition.
Ḥizb al-Lībirālī al-Qafuri, a social liberal, fiscally conservative party, currently in government.
The Majlis al-Umma is the national, unicameral legislature. Its current composition is as follows:
