Are these laws still legal[]

If the law is still of the value shown in "Value", then these are legal, unless they have been revoked, in which case they should not be shown. Even if the value changes, then changes back, these are still legal unless revoked.

Current ID Bills[]

The recreational drug policy:[]

Value: All naturally occurring drugs are legal

ID information: Cannabis may be taken in private homes. All other drugs may only be used in limited amounts in government run clinics, after undergoing quality tests. Users must give their name, and, if attending too regularly, by given addiction treatment. Anyone may be refused drugs by clinic staff. Drugs must reach standards in terms of chemical make up, for example, cannabis must have more CBD than THC.

Privacy protection for those in the public eye.[]

Value: The media may only publish personal stories and photos relating to public figures with their explicit permission.

ID information: The media may publish personal stories and photos without the permission of said public figure if it could be considered evidence of illegal activities. "Gossip", without permission, is illegal and the public figure may sue. This seeks to retain the privacy of public figures.

Freedom of information law.[]

Value: Classified files are released after a set period of time provided doing so is not deemed to endanger national security.

ID information: Classified files are released after 40 years if they will not release military secrets that are still relevant, or endanger the life of anyone, Kanjor national or otherwise, mentioned or related to the classified file.

Government regulation of the viewing of movies.[]

Value: The viewing of movies is not regulated by the government.

ID information: This will not include lifting regulations on material deemed hateful.

The age until which students, if education were to be compulsory, are required to be educated (limited between 16 and 21).[]

Value: 16 ID information: Pupils may leave school at the age of 16 provided they have a job or apprenticeship.

Government policy towards the cloning of human beings.[]

Value: Research in cloning technologies is not regulated.

ID information: This bill will not make human cloning legal but legalise research and the creation of technology to do with human cloning. This research and technology creation will only be legal if it is deemed to be useful for medical applications e.g. cloning body parts, or if it advances the field of cloning as a whole. This will be decided on a case to case basis by a bipartisan, government funded committee.

The government's policy concerning diplomatic immunity.[]

Value: Diplomats are exempt from prosecution for criminal acts but not from civil lawsuits, but may still be expelled because of criminal acts.

Id information: This bill protects Kanjor's diplomats from unfair laws and any inhumane punishment that comes with it. If a diplomat brakes a law deamed fair and punishment is humane (disided by an independent bipartisan commission with foreign office input) then Kanjor's government will collaborate with host nation in prosecuting.

The age at which a person is considered an adult (limited between 12 and 24).[]

Value: 16

ID information: This bill consists of a more detailed approach based on previous criticism. What 16-17 are allowed to do like adults:

  • Work a full time job or apprenticeship (if they have left full time education)
  • Have sexual relationships
  • Vote
  • Leave home (with approval of parent or guardian)
  • Participate in politics
  • Buy Property
  • Drive

What 16-17 year olds are not allowed to do like adults:

  • Join the military
  • Purchase cigarettes and alcohol (addict therapy will still be available)
  • Gamble (addict therapy will still be available)
  • Take out large loans

The right to perform an abortion for a pregnant woman.[]

Value: Abortion is allowed during the entire course of the pregnancy.

ID information: Abortions may be requested during the first and second trimesters for any reason. Abortions may only be requested in the third trimester if there are medical complications, endangering the life of the mother or the child. Physical disability that does not endanger the life of the child is not a valid reason in the third trimester.

Government policy concerning sex reassignment surgery.[]

Value: The government funds sex reassignment surgery for people with low incomes.

ID information: All sex reassignment surgery is funded by the state (all incomes are considered to be low incomes for this bill).

Hiring of lawyers (ID only).[]

ID information: Lawyer are paid by the state. This includes all criminal lawyers, divorce lawyers, estate agents and civil lawyers, but not corporate lawyers (i.e. lawyers that write contracts for businesses), although their wages are heavily regulated. Prosecutors in civil cases must provide a deposit (the size of which is determined by their available funds (if a business)), which will be returned if they win the case. Defendants in civil cases must provide a smaller deposit, but only if they were given another option (i.e. in a libel case, if they were given the option to apologise but chose not to. Whether the option was a fair choice can be appealed).
