Walruzyjskie Linie Lotnicze LOT S.A. commonly known as LOT Valruzian Airlines is the flag airline carrier of the Republic of Valruzia. It was established on May 14, 4247 and based in Nowogard. The airline's main hub is located Nowogard "Ignański" International Airport. It is the largest airline in Terra by fleet size, as well as by passengers and kilometers flown.
LOT Valruzian Airlines together with its subsidiaries: LOT Cargo, Seleyana (formerly: Interconnect and Homeconnect), Tucan Air, Air Baltusia, Keymoon Airlines, Air Kaliburg, Air Tian'an, Artania Airlines, and Air Aurore and EnskalAire operate under the name LOT Group. Altogether the LOT Group is the largest airline group by fleet size, kilometer, and passengers flown in history with more than 3 thousand planes and more than 35 thousand daily flights.
LOT Valruzian Airlines offers four different classes of its services: Economy, Economy Plus, Business, and First Class. The LOT Valruzian Airlines despite its young age is considered one of the safest airlines in Terra. Airline frequently introduces new safety procedures. For example, during takeoff, both pilots push the thrust levers to ensure that one pilot does not ruin the takeoff procedure.
LOT Valruzian Airlines was a fully state-owned company that was headed by the director appointed by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport. It was the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Valruzia which was responsible for the maintenance and expansion of the airline.
In May 4255, the LOT Cargo was established, which became a wholly-owned subsidiary cargo airline of LOT. In the same year, Homeconnect and Interconnect were established. Homeconnect provides air passenger transport services within Valruzia connecting minor and major airports. Interconnect was established as ultra-long-haul routes airline which solely operates on international routes. On 4515 both airlines, Interconnect and Homeconnect were merged into Seleyana.
In November 4282, the government of Valruzia finalized the deal with the dorvish government which established mutual control packets over the LOT Group and the Dorvish Airways. 15% of DA fell under the control of LOT Group and 15% of LOT Group under the control of DA. For a brief amount of time LOT continued to develop its cooperation with DA, but with increasing tensions from new nationalist Dorvish administration, and disputed renationalization of the airline by the Dorvish government, the plans were dropped and after decades of stagnation, claims for the DA were dropped. In 4378 LOT announced plans of conversion of the remaining assets of Dorvish Airways still in its possession into airline called International Dorvish Airlines.
Dorvish Airways claims
In 4282, the Government of the Republic of Valruzia announced the finalization of a plan to purchase 15% of Dorvish national airlines - Dorvish Airways - under which LOT was to become the majority owner of Dorvish Airways in the long term.
Initially, the plan was implemented without any problems, and LOT increased its percentage share in the shareholder structure of Dorvish Airways, and after nearly ten years it became the majority shareholder. LOT planned to start operations through LOT Cargo, and then began to invest in the development of the Dorvish Airways fleet, and to thicken the network of airline connections between Dorvik and Walrusia airports.
However, with the rise of nationalists in Dorvik and numerous attempts to undermine the purchase of the airline, in order to consolidate its position in Arthania, LOT took over the majority shareholding of Kirlawa's Artania Airlines (AA), which soon became the largest subsidiary of LOT on the continent. Thanks to numerous investments and the cascading development of the fleet, consisting of the transfer of older LOT aircraft and incorporating into the AA, the airline quickly became one of the largest and most popular carriers after DA.
The actual cooperation between Dorvish Airways and LOT was brought to an end by the Dorvik Parliament's attempt to renationalize Dorvish Airlines. Despite the adoption of a law renationalizing the airline, LOT questioned its legality under international law. The movable property belonging to the DA, which was held by LOT, was secured by it until the dispute was resolved.
Despite the passage of decades and Dorvik's unwillingness to settle the dispute amicably, in 4738, LOT decided to waive its claims concerning, in its opinion, the unlawfully confiscated property and the right to the Dorvish Airways brand and the remainder of the DA's property, created International Dorvik Airlines (known as IDA), which is intended operate flights between Seleya and Artania.
