The 4731 Likatonian general election was an election held to elect the President of Likatonia and 100 members of the Senate of Likatonia. It marked the end of the 5th Senate.
In the presidential election, the National Union for Likatonian Prosperity managed to beat Eric Hamilton from the Conservative Republican Party on the second ballot, defeating incumbent president, Terressa Nickson. In the Senate the Social Democrats and National Union for Likatonian Prosperity lost large swaves of their support to the newly founded Libertarian Party, which became the largest party, and Likatonian Indentity Defence League. The CRP also saw an increase with the other leftist parties losing a few seats but less than the two largest parties. Being Lib's and LIDL's first election many were surprised with how well they both did.
Context[]
In the previous parliament the major change proposed by the government was the introduction of a Political Supreme Court. This was a major change from the past of Likatonia but seen as a good move for democracy. Also two new parties were set up, the far-right Likatonian Indentity Defence League and the more centrist Libertarian Party.

Government Formation[]
In this election the public voted for a fractured senate with many different political beliefs in it, being equally strong. The three leading parties all seeing major blows. The only party in the last Senate which saw gains was the CRP. The intention was to create a Lib-CRP government with Lab support but due to the dissolution of the LIDL and later Lib this did not happen. The Baker cabinet remained in office as a caretaker administration.
