In 2772, the King's trusted advisor First Lord Camille Daladier was made High Lord Protector of the State and Executor of the Monarch during Constitutional Crisis surrounding the King's brother, HRH Prince Charles Gaston Guillaume chosen as Premier Ministre. Daladier used his position to usurp the control of the Gouvernement away from the King, leaving him only as a distant figurehead to the nation. The King's popularity gradually dropped as he attempted to wrestle control from Daladier and in early 2884, the King felt public pressure to resign and pave the way for his daughter to take up the throne. | |

Sophie Irène reigned briefly during which she adopted greater democratic reforms establishing an elected Monarchist official to rule on her behalf. In 2889, she was dethroned by a hostile Communist government, was arrested by the People's Commission and sentenced to 100 years before being released early under house arrest where she shortly died under suspicious circumstances. She was 63 years old. |
