The Mpakoalan Revolution (4941) was a major social upheaval in the former Dranian State of Dovani, against capitalism and Bulichi. Beginning in the city of Bakinteku; the Revolution saw successful Communist seizure of large swathes of land in Eastern North Dovani and solidified the power of the Mpakoalan Communist League; but the initial wave failed to spread to the entire nation. This would ultimately be accomplished more than a decade later with the proclamation of the MCCR, which is considered to be the end of the Revolution.

Though it took a decade to fully end, the Revolution is usually classified as the period of power seizure by the Councils and MCL; with the later parts and western invasion falling under the North Dovanian Civil War.

The revolution is often seen as the battle between and later triumph of indigenous communism over colonist capitalism, and the end of the Bulichi system. It is widely celebrated for ending Bulichi and minority rule, but controversial in that it lead to the ascension of the MCL government for decades afterwards. In addition, many criticize official tellings for understating the influence of the anti-communist, anti-Bulichi North Dovanian People's National Union as well.

Causes[]

North Dovani had seen previous Communist uprisings, but these were relatively tame and unorganized. However, beginning with the ban of the Party of Labor in 4933 and the underground agitation of the new Communist League, things began to escalate. The crash of '39 lead to much dissillusion and blame on the Bulichi government, and ethnic minorities and workers became restless. These factors - economic depression, Bulichi, and national unrest - would culminate in the assassination of Labor leader, and the beginning of the revolution.
