Flag of the Gaoic Revolt, often used as a symbol of the international Pan-Gaoic movement
Pan-Gaoism (Gao Characters: 汎高主義), also known as Pan-Gishotism or Gaoicism, is a racial and ethnic ideology espousing the unity of the Gaoic peoples into a single political state. Pan-Gaoism is predicated on Gaoic Nationalism, or the belief that the Gaoic peoples constitute a single nation.
Importantly and in addition to Gaoic Nationalism, Pan-Gaoism further postulates that the unification and liberation of the Gaoic world will require the liquidation of 'Settler Colonial States".
Overview[]
Pan-Gaoism is broadly considered to be the political movement to bring together the Gaoic peoples as a nation, which is itself ideologically based upon Gaoic Nationalism. It has often been said that Gaoic Nationalism represents the ideal whilst Pan-Gaoism is the method used to realize the Gaoic Nationalist theory.
Relation to Pan-Dovanism and Third Worldism[]
Because the Gaoic peoples were historically subjects of colonialism by the west and natives of the exploited Dovanian continent, Pan-Gaoism is typically viewed as an anti-colonialist or Pan-Dovanist ideology. This is true to an extent in that most Pan-Gaoists are advocates for Third Worldist movements and seek largely to undermine the west or Settler Colonies. However, Pan-Gaoism is a racial ideology that includes certain Gaoic First and Second World Nations whilst excluding non-Gaoic Third World nations. Pan-Dovanism has been called an ideology of convenient and shared recent political experience, wherein the cultures of Dovani have little in common beyond their shared exploitation by the West. The Pan-Dovanist movement, for instance, is made up of many different skin tones, genetic groups, cultures, religions, and traditions with divergent and unrelated origins.
Pan-Gaoism and Gaoic Nationalism, on the other hand, are rooted in the belief that Gaoic Peoples should constitute a single nation due to their unique and shared cultural and racial heritage. Thus, by its nature Pan-Gaoism's racial identity means that it cannot be an all-inclusive conduit for race blind Pan-Dovanism.
