Patriarchal Church (Eastern Rite) was a name for the associated national churches which followed this version of Hosianism.
History[]
When the Holy Apostolic Hosian Church of Terra was created following the Council of Auroria, the Hobrazian Orthodox Church rejected the creation of a single Arch-Patriarch for all of Terra and became independent.
Eastern Patriarchalism first became prominent in Al'Badara in the seventh century, as a result of the efforts of Hobrazian missionaries, spreading through most of Northern Majatra and Western Seleya. In time, contact between the Hobrazian Orthodox Church and the other Eastern churches was lost during the subsequent invasions, which accounts for the differences in doctrine between the two Churches.
The two Churches were finally reunited in 3412, following the Synod of Aldegaria, forming the Apostolic Church of the East
Beliefs[]
Faith And Works[]
These Churches believe that faith alone is not sufficent for salvation. Its view is that 'good works' are necessary, but not sufficent for salvation.
Universalism[]
This is the doctrine, that in the end, all shall be saved. It rejects the idea of eternal punishment for sins, which no matter how bad they are, are limited. Gods infinite goodness and justice are such that he would not allow such a disproportionate punishment. Also, as every created being has free will, God allows them at any time to choose to reject sin. In the end even the Devil himself will be saved
Governance[]
Its governing body was the Great Council, which was composed of all the Bishops of the church. It rejected the authority over Hosianism claimed by various Arch-Patriarchs.
