After the death of President of the National Convention Isabella Cederstam, her successor, Sture Eriksson, immediately began the proceedings for the long planned formation of the Union of Davostan and Kivonia. The elections of the Union was to be held the day of its formation, as such it was widely considered to be a historic moment. Fladborgian leader Thorbjörn Ohlsson acted to keep the original unionist movement alive by uniting the Fladborgians and the Nybergians on the 20th July 4795, so that they could become part of the new "Union Era".
The Union of Davostan and Kivonian was first suggested by the founders of the Fladborgian Club, and the idea later on went viral after the Nybergian Revolt in 4789. It was also one of the most important goals of the Davostani Revolution, a revolution which the Fladborgians and the Nybergians incited. The People's Revolutionary Party, during the year 4795, worked tirelessly on the Union Constitution, to make sure everything went according to plan. They are widely considered to be the founders of the Union.
The party was founded on the 20th July 4795, a few weeks after the death of Isabella Cederstam. The-then incumbent President of the National Convention Sture Eriksson began the proceedings for the formation of the Union of Davostan and Kivonia, he sat the date 1st June 4796, to be the Union Day and the first Union Election Day. This made the leader of the Fladborgian Club, Thorbjörn Ohlsson to begin preparing for that election, seeking to have a strong and stable electoral bloc to sweep the elections as the party to represent the Davostani Revolution and to present themselves as the true founders of the Union. To accomplish this, Ohlsson negotiated with the remnants of the Nybergian Club, and both factions agreed to merge into the People's Revolutionary Party, a unionist, civic nationalist and liberal party, and a few months later pan-makonic as well.
In late October, a few self-nominations for the upcoming election for the Supreme Chairman and the new National Convention, one prominent of these was by Pär Wall-Enberg, a Fladborgian who was seen as a skilled orator and law-maker. The most notable nomination was by former Secretary of the Third Kivonian Republic and founder of the Kivonian National Salvation Party, Christian Kvist, who announced return to politics and candidacy for the National Convention on the People's Revolutionary Party's list. On the 14th November 4795, the party changed its name to the People's Revolutionary Unionist Party, to better reflect its ideological position.
The FRUP began talks with the Peasant and Workers' Party (BAP) and the New Nation Party (NNP), concerning the formation of a stable national coalition, which would operate as a political party. Formally, the FRUP, BAP and the NNP merged into the All-Union Nationalist Party on the 22nd June 4800, as to dissociate any beliefs that the two minor parties were being swallowed up by the ruling party, which was the actual case. Despite the formality, the ANP is widely viewed and even accepted by the party itself as a major reorganization of the FRUP.
The Party Congress is the party's highest body and elects the Party Committee. The Chairman of the Party Committee is the Party Chairman. On the committee the Chairman, the Deputy Chairman and all five of the regional leaders sits.
