Rodshya (Rodshyan: родшянский язык, rodshyanskiy yazik) is a Delic language and the most widely spoken language in Trigunia. Rodshya is a related to Deltarian languages. Rodshya belongs to the Terran language family and is one of the living members of Kozak-Trigunian languages.

Standard Trigunian[]

The standard well-known Rodshya is spoken in Tirgith and generally called modern Rodshya literary language (Rodshyan: современиї родшянский литературный язык).

There are three dialects of Rodshya spoken in Trigunia that are tied to the three main islands of the nation-state:

  1. The Tirgitskiy dialect is spoken on Tirgith and is considered the standard form of the language, despite the fact that the ancient city of Rodshyadam, where the language derived, is not located on the island. The dialect is harsher than the other two forms and tends to adhere to strict grammar and stresses proper accent usage. Since it is considered to be both standard and "accentless" this dialect is most widely used in news programming, television, and radio.
  2. The Lyesanskiy dialect is spoken on the main island of Lyesniya. It uses slightly different stresses and vocabulary inflections than does the Tirgithye dialect.
  3. The Olvarskiy dialect is considered the "softest". It is found exclusively on the of the island of Itäsaari and has many Old Language words, phrases and accents on words. This dialect is hard understood by other Rodshya speakers that dont speak Olvarsky.
  4. The Kildaskiy dialect is considered to be the most sparsely spreaded dialect of Rodshya. It is mostly spoken in the easern parts, mostly north eastern, of Itäsaari. It is mostly spoken by Sullestians, and Rodshadans that live in the far east of Trigunia. This dialect has many Sullestian phrases combined with Rodshyan, it is also uses the Sullestian accent so it is , like Olvarskiy, hardly understood by other Rodshya speakers.

Writing system[]

Since the early 2900s, Trigunia has successfully reinvented itself as the definitive information technology, computer hardware, software contributor and processor to the world. In this attempt, the government pushed the usage of standard Selucian letters to ease translation and better aid in the dissemination of information to clients. Because of this, very few people or areas of the country still adhere to the old Tokundian alphabet, although it is still widely seen in academic circles in order to study historical documents. However, after the Peoples Radical Party came in power in 3598, the Tokundian alphabet saw its rebirth due to the new language and writing reforms. By some experts, it is said that Tokundian will become the main alphabet of Rodshyan by 3645.
