Within the Aurorian Patriarchal Church, the Selucian Rite is the primary liturgical rite for regions in which the Selucian Patriarchal Church was previously dominant. In practical terms it is the dominant liturgical rite within the Church as a whole and the most widespread Hosian liturgical rite in the world.
Historically the Selucian Rite was dominant in Selucia and Egelion, as well as Dankuk, Hulstria and Gao-Soto, Luthori, Dorvik and Malivia. As a general rule, the Selucian Rite is employed when there is no previously existing liturgical tradition. In recent centuries, especially since the Second Council of Auroria even countries with a different liturgical tradition have employed the Selucian Rite.
