Shapur (Aldegarian: Shapur text) was an ancient Aldegarian prophet and the founder of Yazdism. He is traditionally considered the author of the Daftar-e Asha, the sacred text of Yazdism. The biography of Shapur is obscured by myth and later accretions, though it is certain that he gained fame and controversy when he began preaching in the name of an uncreated creator deity known as Yazdān, and when he condemned some of the Aldegarian deities as div (demons) locked in a never-ending struggle against the ahuras, of which the highest was Yazdān.

His earliest protector was Ashkan the Magnificent, the Shah of Kemoku. After the death of Shapur, presumably murdered by the traditional Kemokian priestly class, Ashkan used Yazdism as the ideological base for his conquests, creating the Kemokian Empire. To this day, Yazdism remains the dominant religion in Aldegar, and Shapur is considered one of the most influential Aldegarians of all time.
