St. Quirinus of Assedo is a Hosian saint and Bishop who lived in the 6th century CE. He is the patron saint of children, sailors, merchants, archers, repentant thieves, brewers, pawnbrokers and students. The bishop of the Hosian community in Assedo near the Selucian capital of Auroria, Quirinus was widely held to have been an auxiliary or at least a close confederate of saint Adeodatus Florianus, the Bishop of Auroria, and intimately involved in bringing together the leaders of the Hosian world to Auroria for the Council of Auroria.

A well-known legend of the Council is that at the Council, debate between Martinians and Eudemians over the doctrine of binitarianism got so heated that Quirinus punched Evdemoz. Hagiographers would attribute this to Quirinus's holy zeal and regard it positively. The non-Aurorian churches, followers of Evdemoz, give reference to Eudemos's saintly response: "Brother, though I forgive you for punching me, you might as well punch yourself."

St. Quirinus is also said to have given secret gifts to the poor, particularly children. This has resulted in his use as a gift-giver holiday figure in many countries, oddly enough remaining strong mostly in Luthoran Hosians, such as Sinterien in Saridan, Sankterinus in Hulstria and Saint Quinn in Luthori, also known as Father Hallowtide. This has led modern scholars to suggest that the legends surrounding Quirinus's secret gift-giving were used or even made up to displace an earlier Dundorfian-Artanian pagan holiday gift-giver usually known as the Winterfather.

In the Aurorian succession to the Arch-Patriarchate, thirteen Arch-Patriarchs have so far taken the name Quirinus.
