The Teal House (碧瓦臺, Byeogwadae), officially the Residence of the Prime Minister (上大等宮, Sangdaedeunggung) is a residential compound located in Gongmangdo Capital City. It is the current residence of the Prime Minister of Baeguk.
Built over the course of 3 years from 5306-5309, the compound was designed as a safe space for the Head of Government to administer the nation closer to the Senate. It succeeded and replaced the DNWA-built Commonwealth Chancellery Building that had been used to house the leaders of the subsequent Provisional State, Republic, and Third Kingdom of Baeguk.
The Teal House's proximity to the Hall of the Great Hwabaek helps centralize the work of the government. It has also become an iconic venue used as a reception hall for foreign dignitaries, having overtaken both Jesu and Beonyeong Palace in number of international delegations hosted since the year 5500.
Purpose[]
The Teal House serves mainly as both the living quarters and workspace of the Prime Minister and their closest staff. However, a reception hall and administrative complex also exist within the compound to assist the cabinet in preforming their work duties and to host foreigners during diplomatic events.
Location[]
The Teal House is located on the northeastern edge of Gongmangdo's Kungmal District at the foot of Ramaksan mountain. Through this the Teal House is right behind Beonyeong Palace, which is in turn right next to the Hall of the Great Hwabaek, the house of the Baegukese Senate. While in the past the Emperor would also reside at Beonyeong Palace and thus would live right in front of the Teal House, the 5500 relocation of the Imperial residence to Jesu Palace means that the Imperial Household is now father away from the Teal House.
