The city of Čachtice is the capital city of Deltaria and the country's largest city, in addition to being the administrative centre of the Vojvodstvo of Darali. Čachtice was the capital of Deltaria for centuries, before it was moved to Naban, Alazinder, with the founding of the Federal Republic of Deltaria. With the restoration of the Czardom in 3466, the city again became the capital of Deltaria. Čachtice is most famous as the capital of the Tokundian Empire, Great Deltaria, the Dynastic Oligarchy, and Czarist Deltaria, attracting numerous tourists due to its unique architecture and historical heritage. Čachtice is located on the shores of Lake Majatra, being one of Deltaria's Western-most cities.
Čachtice was initially founded as the Kalopian colony of Tekhtai (Ancient Kalopian: Τεχταí) in antiquity, and when the Deltarians arrived in the 7th century, the city adopted its current name as a Delic adaptation of the Kalopian name. The city is known officially in all of Deltaria's languages as Čachtice or variations thereof.
