The United National Workers’ Front is a Luthorian far-left political party founded in 5017.

The party took part in the 5018 parliamentary election and won 8.73% of the votes, becoming the fifth party. The UNWF therefore entered the Imperial Diet with 30 MPs.

Ideology[]

The United National Workers’ Party has the main aim of "standing up for the working class man or woman" in the Imperial Diet. The final goal of the party is to implement a utopian, worker controlled state, where workers rights are respected, and all individuals receive a fair income. The old Dundorfian philosopher, Karlstein Metz, is seen by many in the party as an idol.

Leadership[]

There is no official leader of the party, however party decisions which cannot be put to a vote of all members are taken by the Workers’ Council, of which there is an elected Chairman. The Chairman is considered by many as the de-facto leader of the party, and is currently Alfred Williams. Members of the Workers’ Council are the respective union leaders, who still operate independently from the political party, seven elected party members, who are elected every year at the party conference, three randomly selected long-term party members, and any members who hold a cabinet or gubernatorial position. The chairman is elected from all willing members by the Workers’ Council, and then confirmed by the entire party at the next party conference. The confirmation vote is purely out of respect for the membership, and even if they didn’t have confidence in the Chairman, the Council wouldn’t be forced to change him.

The party has a constitution, which stipulates that, when possible, the party members should vote on all decisions. In practice, this means that a number of votes on matters of policy occur at the party conference, along with a series of several other votes, throughout the year, which occur either online, or at a number of local locations, on other issues. The party conference is the biggest event in the party calendar.
