The Western Meria Crisis (Likatonian: Rietumu Merīa Krīzes) is an on-going conflict in Keymon.
Prelude[]
The origins of the Western Meria Crisis can be traced back to 3285, when the Nationalist People's Party of Likatonia engineered a military coup and installed General Valeri Sokoloff as Likatonia's leader. One of Sokoloff's stated intentions was to conquer all of Greater Likatonia, which included Keymon. Upon passage of Sokoloff's "First Western Meria Resolution," international fears of conflict rose dramatically.
During the same period in Keymon, tensions between the Imperial National Party and the Society for Enlightenment and Liberty were rising. The tensions culminated in 3285, when an attempt was made on Supreme President Edward Royaliwith's life. Royaliwith responded by blaming the attack on Likatonia; the charge was promptly denied by Sokoloff.
